From there hikers start the tour as we hike along the river Sy\u00f0ri \u00d3f\u00e6ra. We will observe a breathtaking waterfall, that doesn\u2019t have any name, as travel along the side of the river on our way to the shepherd hut in \u00c1lftav\u00f6tn where we will have dinner and overnight accommodation.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00c1lftav\u00f6tn is stunningly beautiful, fountains stream out from the lavafields and into the clear \u00c1lftav\u00f6tn where vegetation reaches the water. The path is unmarked and not visible and far from all roads. \u00c1lftav\u00f6tn is wide valley loaded with lakes and rivers. \u00c1lftav\u00f6tn means \u201cSwan lakes\u201d It is common to se birds there like swans and other birds depending on the time of the year we go through the area. We will hike through the Eldgj\u00e1 fissure and along side with the (inn me\u00f0 hl\u00ed\u00f0um) vast Svartahn\u00faksfj\u00f6ll \u201cblack mountains\u201d on our way to Str\u00fatslaug, H\u00f3lms\u00e1rbotna) that lies south of the glacier Torfaj\u00f6kull. Str\u00fatslaug is active geothermal area and there explorers have the opportunity to realax in fully natural geothermal hot spring. There are no dressing rooms there and we don\u2019t expect to meet other trekkers on the this remote area that is not accessible by roads or tracks either. From Str\u00fatslaug are 1,5 hour hike to the Str\u00fatur hut where we overnight<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>v\u00e6\u00f0i\u00f0. \u00deess m\u00e1 geta a\u00f0 Rangvellingar nefndu Str\u00fatslaug H\u00f3lms\u00e1rbotnahver. We will see the glacier M\u00fdrdalsj\u00f6kul to the south and the glacier Torfaj\u00f6kul to the north. We hike on the black sand of M\u00e6lifellsand on our way to the mountain hut in Hvanngil. Our trail ends in Hvanngils. Hvanngil is on the middle of the well-known trekking trail Laugavegur. From Hvanngil we will travel with our 4&#215;4 highland bus to H\u00f3laskj\u00f3l Highland Center where our tour ends. We will enjo different the landsscap as we travel back on the black M\u00e6lisfellssand with the black sand around us green hills in the background and good wiwve on the maignificend glacier M\u00fdrdalsj\u00f6kull where the volcano Katla is resting.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>We end in H\u00f3laskj\u00f3l where some of the hikers might have left there cars.
